Update: April is here and it’s a major month for the Nike Kobe line as both the Kobe 6 Protro “Italian Camo” and Kobe 8 Protro “Venice Beach” are set to make their return. Looking closer at the latter, it was spotted last December and has now been officially showcased by the Swoosh. Returning after dropping in 2013, the colorway is set to launch once again on April 13 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $190 USD.
Original Story: The Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Venice Beach” is set to make a return next spring. Initially released in 2013 as a part of the legendary Kobe Bryant‘s Nike signature line. Due to shoe’s vibrant colorway, it was a standout highlight amongst the collection.
The shoe is known for its multi-colored mesh upper and unique pattern. The vivid hues drew inspiration from the lively atmosphere of Venice Beach, often known for its skateboarding scene and street basketball courts. The shoe has an underlying stadium grey base with stringent mixes of blue, yellow, red and green. Paying tribute to the eclectic California location, the shoe also features a bright pair of tour yellow laces, orange inner lining and aqua heel and mudguards. Matching the grey mesh, the shoe sits atop a grey semi-translucent rubber outsole. Byrant’s signature and Mamba logo appear on the heel and tongue tab respectively.
Look out for the re-release of the Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Venice Beach” arriving on April 13, 2024 for $190 USD at select retailers and online at Nike.
