WTAPS has tapped fellow Japanese brand PPACO for a footwear collaboration, featuring two slides that merge both parties’ signature aesthetics and design language.

Since its establishment, PPACO has wanted to “overturn common sense” through its slides that can be placed upside down, which prevent the insides from getting dirty when left outdoors. This is achieved through their distinctive design, where the opening of the slide is straight to ensure a stable form when it’s flipped.

Aside from this handy feature, comfort for the feet and soles is also of utmost importance for the brand. Offerings from PPACO are crafted using High-PerFORM®, a soft yet resilient material derived from latex for a lightweight build that comes with just the right amount of elasticity.

Arriving in a predominantly black look, the LUX-1 WTAPS slide is fitted with AIR STUDDED SOLE® for extra cushioning for the underfoot. The slides’ stealthy appearance is contrasted with a splash of neon on the soles, which feature a marble-like pattern in neon green or orange.

Priced at ¥14,300 JPY (around $92 USD), the LUX-1 WTAPS slides are currently available via PPACO’s official online store.
