The New Balance 2002R “Purple Noir,” an exclusive collaboration between DTLR and New Balance, is set to release just in time for Memorial Day. This special edition sneaker combines a classic silhouette with unique design elements that set it apart from the standard New Balance lineup.

What sets the “Purple Noir” apart are its vibrant touches coming in the form of iridescent purple hits and highlighter accents on the tongue lining and outsoles adding intrigue to the overall look. The design is further enhanced by glow-in-the-dark features on the tongues, heel tabs and ABZORB SBS heel units, which illuminate the wearer’s every step in low-light conditions.

The base of the sneaker is built from sporty gray mesh paired with luxurious black suede overlays. It maintains a traditional lacing system, a padded tongue with New Balance branding and “2002R” printed at the lateral heel. As for comfort, this is provided by the integrated N-ergy foam midsole, while the rubber outsole ensures traction and grip.

Available in men’s and kids’ sizes, the New Balance 2002R “Purple Noir” will be released on May 17 and can be purchased both in-store and online at DTLR’s website for $165 USD.
