Update: One of the year’s most-anticipated releases from Jordan Brand, the Air Jordan 4 “Industrial Blue” (a new name for the familiar “Military Blue” colorway) is just a few months away from releasing. While we await its official reveal by the Swoosh, an on-foot breakdown of the kicks has now surfaced. Check out the latest visuals above and stay tuned for additional updates as this pair is now expected to release on April 27 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a price of $215 USD.
Update: When Jordan Brand brings the Air Jordan 4 “Military Blue” back in 2024, it’ll be a true-to-the-original reproduction, but one with a major difference in its title — namely that it’s no longer called the “Military Blue.” In a message to Hypebeast, Jordan Brand’s communications team indicated that the model’s consumer-facing name will be “Industrial Blue” for its 2024 release.
This isn’t the first time Jordan Brand and Nike have slightly altered the names of retro releases over the last year. The Air Jordan 11 “Gratitude” that dropped earlier in the month was originally known as the “DMP” for its inclusion in the 2006 Defining Moments Package (alongside an Air Jordan 6 that was released in 2020 with its original name), John McEnroe’s Nike Mac Attack was brought back as the Nike Attack, and even the Air Ship, a Nike shoe that Michael Jordan wore in his rookie season while waiting for production of the Air Jordan 1 to finish was re-revealed as the Jordan Air Ship.
Check out a new set of Christmas-themed photos from @fkzsnkrs above, and read previous updates plus the original article below for more info on the “Industrial Blue,” FKA “Military Blue.” As of now, you can still expect it to touch down in May 2024.
Update: After a first look at the Air Jordan 4 “Military Blue” retro for 2024 was revealed recently, a (slightly) more detailed set of images has been provided via Instagram leaker account @sneakerjamz. Though the photos are poorly lit and extremely tightly cropped, they still provide the best look yet at the shoe’s familiar color scheme and details. Check ’em out above, and read the original story below for more detail.
Original Story: Jordan Brand will be celebrating the 35th anniversary of the Air Jordan 4 in 2024, and one of the key pieces of that celebration will be a re-release of the original “Military Blue” colorway, of which a first look just surfaced. The “Military Blue” is one of the original four colorways of Michael Jordan’s fourth signature sneaker alongside its famed “White Cement,” “Black Cement/Bred” and “Fire Red” makeups, and was last seen in 2012. However, this 2024 re-release is the most true to the original yet: it’ll feature an OG Nike Air logo on the heel while the previously-released retro offered a Jumpman logo.
Revealed by @zsneakerheadz, the forthcoming retro offers a familiar white and grey color scheme with the hits of blue that give it its moniker. As is par for the course, Jordan Brand fans have been complaining about the look of the shoes, expressing concern about the exact shade of blue and the shoe’s contrasting tones. However, these complaints usually dissipate when official images are revealed and the shoe hits shelves — leak images are often low quality or poorly lit and don’t offer a fully accurate picture (literally and figuratively) of a final product.
Expect the Air Jordan 4 “Military Blue” to return in full family sizes on May 11, 2024, with men’s pairs priced at $215 USD, and keep it locked here for further updates as the release date draws closer.
