Chaco, the American footwear label famous for its adjustable Z-strap sandals, has teamed up with Japanese streetwear label BEAMS for custom iterations of the Z1 Cloud Sandal.

The design employs Chaco’s signature Cloud cushioning and injection-molded ladder lock buckle. Built with the label’s signature LUVSEAT footbed, the silhouette features contoured arch support for maximal comfort. The ChacoGrip rubber outsole, meanwhile, boasts an ultra-sticky composition with increased surface area in the heel and toe for the ideal grip in various conditions.

What really makes the silhouette special is its “crazy mix” of throwback webbings. Made with polyester jacquard, the webbings provide a secure, adaptable fit in a variety of statement-making finishes. Pulling from retro styles, the collaborative straps appear in blue, brown, and orange color schemes with illustrative graphics. One design feeds into the next throughout the model, offering a kaleidoscopic array of colors across the foot.

Topping off the collaboration, BEAMS’ iconography sits atop the silhouette on an orange tab, while Chaco’s signage resides in its usual places on the buckle and the outsole.

The Chaco x Beams Z1 Cloud Sandal is slated to launch online on May 11. The shoe will be priced at $110 USD. Take a look at the design in the gallery above.
