Vanessa Bryant has gone on somewhat of a rampage over the last week by revealing a swath of unique Nike Kobe PEs, from a leopard-print Kobe 8 Protro to a Los Angeles Dodgers-inspired Kobe 6 Protro. Now, Kobe Bryant’s wife has added yet another model to the enviable lineup: a wine-inspired Kobe 4 Protro “Vino.”
As its name indicates, the “Vino” is covered in a rich “Bordeaux” hue from heel to toe, with an upper built from supple nubuck and accented by tonal snakeskin Swooshes with flecks of black. The overall vibe is that of an A Ma Maniére collaboration with Nike or Jordan Brand — a rich, luxurious color scheme with elevated details and premium materials. Finishing touches are supplied by Kobe’s signature Kill Bill-inspired sheath logo embroidered on the tongue and his signature printed on the heel, both done up in gold for a hit of contrast.
Much like the colorways Bryant revealed before, this “Vino” makeup of the Kobe 4 Protro is, in all likelihood, a player edition (PE) sneaker that will only be available to his family, friends and fellow Nike Basketball athletes. However, with the sheer volume of PEs Bryant has been revealing lately, there’s a possibility that at least one or two could see a retail release.
Check out the photos for yourself above, and stay tuned for updates when/if they become available.
