COMME des GARÇONS sent a wealth of kaleidoscopic pieces down the runway as part of its SS24 women’s collection at Paris Fashion Week in September 2023, and now those pieces — including a wildly colored Salomon collaboration — are starting to hit retailers. Officially dubbed the SR811 Platform, the high-stacked sneaker continues COMME des GARÇONS and Salomon’s rich collaborative legacy but cranks the color dial to the max, a vast departure from the duo’s past monochromatic efforts.

Covered from collar to midsole in an array of digitally-printed geometric shapes, the shoe is a sensory spectacle from all angles. If you look past the collision of colors and sharp lines, you’ll catch other, more traditional details. These include a debossed Salomon logo on the lateral heel, hiking-style eyelets and a familiar Contagrip traction pattern on the outsole, the only outward-facing part of the shoe, sans the laces, that’s not done up in the multicolor print. A finishing touch is provided by co-branded insoles and fatigue-reducing Energy Foam midsole tech. The multi-colored collaboration is both a push into the future and a nod to the past for the partnership: though it’s a new color scheme, it makes use of the same platform-soled silhouette that served as the base for COMME des GARÇONS and Salomon’s very first collaboration, released as part of the former’s SS21 line.

Select sizes of the COMME des GARÇONS x Salomon SR811 Platform are available now via Dover Street Market, and the MSRP is set at $1,545 USD.
