After signing with éS Skateboarding in the late ’90s, Chad Muska put out his first signature sneaker (and the first skate shoe priced at $100 USD): the éS Muska. The chunky silhouette, which became one of the decade’s most revered skating shoes, was re-released last year, thanks to fan demand. Now, after finishing the model in colorways including “Grey/Blue” and “Black/Red,” éS Skateboarding has just redone the new-age éS Muska in a new vegan “Tan/Green” tonal scheme.
The design includes all of the original model’s signature touches, including its hidden stash pocket “for top secret stuff” and its molded polyutherane cage for breathabily. Built with a synthetic nubuck upper, the shoe dons an ultra-plushy tongue and a molded EVA footbed for maximal comfort. Additionally, the model prioritizes durability with an accent-shaped protective pad for “ollie abrasion” and a rubber toe piece to tackle tougher rides.
Zooming in, the footwear silhouette features logo-laden lace toggles and heel pull taps, as well as custom-molded eyelets for lace protection. Capping off the design details, the shoe’s tongue houses an “éS Muska” plaque in its center.
The “Tan/Green” éS Muska is now available to shop on éS Skateboarding’s webstore for $149.99 USD. Take a closer look at the new colorway in the gallery above, and learn more about the making of Muska’s signature shoe in Hypebeast’s Sole Mates with the skater himself.
