Per usual, Jordan Brand has an exciting slate of Air Jordan 5 releases scheduled throughout this year. While next week sees the launch of the “Sail” pair, a “Black Cat” iteration is expected to land on shelves later this year, prompting much interest. With the sneaker’s 35th anniversary next year, it’s looking like 2025 is going to be a major time for the Air Jordan 5 to shine, especially as a new rumor from zSneakerHeadz and Sneaker Files has indicated that its OG “Black Metallic” colorway is returning.
Previously, the design initially dropped in 1990 with re-releases in 2000, 2007, 2011 and 2016, not to mention a low-top golf version in 2020. Its color arrangement of “Black,” “White,” “Metallic Silver” and “Fire Red” has been confirmed, however, its specific detailing has not been disclosed just yet. Pictured above is the 2016 pair, which you can expect it to likely match next year.
At the time of writing, Jordan Brand has not confirmed any details regarding the possible return of the Air Jordan 5 “Black Metallic” colorway. Stay tuned for updates, including a first look at the pair, as we currently expect it to land on shelves via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a possible price of $210 USD sometime next year.
