Boy Better Know rapper, Skepta, is one of the UK’s most decorated multi-hyphenates. The musician is often seen launching new projects — whether that be relaunching his fashion imprint MAINS, rejuvenating his career as a DJ, or directing movies under his just-launched production company, 1plus1 — and now he’s just unveiled his latest move: a brand-new sneaker collaboration with PUMA.
Having already made his mark on the sneaker industry with his SK Air line with Nike before signing with PUMA in 2022, fans were left on the fence as to whether Skeppy’s latest move made sense. However, with the amount of creative control seen on Big Smoke’s new finsta, Skepta has made his new sneaker with PUMA entirely his own, standing as one of the cleanest silhouettes to be unveiled this year.
Skep’s new design is an entirely new model, with the first thing that jumps out coming in the form of the wavy overlays that run across the upper. Reflective detailing is also applied, with the fresh features looping around the shoe’s full profile, leaving unique holes that reveal black mesh underneath.
Channeling some serious America Cups energy, Skepta delved deep into the PUMA archives for the inspiration behind his latest shoe — as seen in the metallic undertones that can be seen when light is flashed on the silhouette, as well as the alternate yellow and orange laces that arrive with the sneaker and all-chrome shoe box. Rounding off the design, customary co-branding can be spotted on the heel counter and tongue.
