This season, heritage footwear label Sebago revisits its expansive archives to bring back its first-ever sailing sneaker.

Designed specifically for sailors, the retro Hurricane model sets itself apart from the brand’s archetypal catalog of formal footwear – consisting mostly of Boat shoes – with more purpose-driven design. Slim-line and unfussy, the silhouette packs functional components into a lightweight body, making it well-suited to life on board.

In its modern incarnation, the sneaker is elevated to serve as an everyday footwear choice beyond the ports. For its base, the brand uses Strobel construction and a waved tread to bring flexibility and grip to the footbed. Micro mesh on the tongue, and perforated details on the leather outer, come together for a more comfortable wear, enhancing breathability for extended periods.

The overall aesthetics of the latest iteration stay true to original form with a crisp white color palette playing host to sinuous piped lines from the midsole to the toe box. The outer components are also punctuated with raised “Docksides” lettering and Sebago branding.

The Sebago Hurricane is set to drop on February 22. To find out more, head to the brand’s website and Instagram page now.
