Original Story: This year, Jordan Brand will bring back several renowned models and colorways that have outlined Michael Jordan’s outstanding legacy. The Air Jordan 11 “DMP” is slated for its first re-release since 2006, while the Air Jordan 13 “Wheat” will reportedly return to shelves this holiday season.
Nike and Jordan Brand always think ahead and are already preparing for 2024. Rumors have surfaced that the Air Jordan 9 “Powder Blue” will make its first comeback since 2010. The original version initially launched in 1993 and was one of four OG colorways, this one being an ode to Michael’s college basketball team — the North Carolina Tarheels.
The 2024 Air Jordan 9 “Powder Blue” version will stay true to the original, boasting an all-white upper with geometrical perforations across the medials. Black mesh tongues deliver strong contrast along with matching textile liners and heel tabs. Striking notes of “Powder Blue” adorn the tongues and midsoles, sitting atop white rubber bottoms ornamented with Jordan’s Jumpman silhouette. Like the original, the new release will not feature #23 numerical on the heels.
