With over 115 years of experience under its belt, New Balance continues to blossom as a footwear brand. In recent years, its lifestyle output has been backed by the introduction of new and familiar silhouettes. At the start of 2022, it was the 9060 that took center stage before the 1906R stepped onto the scene as a go-to. From there, the WRPD Runner joined in on the fun in 2023 with the 1000 model finally returning for its 25th anniversary in 2024.
Initially teased via a forthcoming collaboration between the brand and Joe Freshgoods, the New Balance 1000 has seen its 1999 build updated for this year as a myriad of makeovers have already been teased. The latest look to land on the retro runner sees off-white and green combine with gray detailing. Spotted via one image, the brief preview highlights the mixed material build of suede, leather and a gray textile that intersects the aforementioned color combination. The uppermost portion sees off-white adorn the laces, tongue and heel while also appearing in semi-translucent form at the midfoot’s “N” logo, which is outlined by a forest green. Additional hits of green can be spotted at the toe, mudguard and midsole while a black rubber outsole rounds things out.
At the time of writing, New Balance has not yet announced the return date of the 1000 silhouette, including this “Off-White/Green” colorway. Stay tuned for updates as it’s likely to arrive via New Balance and select retailers at a price of $150 USD sometime after Joe Freshgoods’ collaboration launches later this month.
