New Balance is switching out the uppers of its popular 550 silhouette for its latest “Sashiko Pack.”
Offered in colorways of “Pecan” and “Linen,” the newest iterations are crafted with heavy canvas textiles rather than its traditional leather build, adding a stunning layer of texture and breathing life into the Japanese-style embroidery. Branding can be found on the grey “N” panel logos in suede, the embroidered “550” emblem at the end of the eyelets and another embroidered “NB” insignia on the heel, while the tongue tag marks the second substantial change in this model as it removes the regular look with complementing patchwork. Both sneakers rest on an off-white midsole and outsole, while matching laces tie them together for a clean finish.
