Mizuno has always held a unique position within the footwear market, creating unorthodox models that have one foot rooted in classic streetwear staples and the other leaping towards the future. As such, the beloved Japanese imprint returns to the fray with several new iterations to the Wave Prophecy Strap model.
Debuting in triple black and beige, the hybrid sneaker-sandal boasts a cagey strap aesthetic that carries from the shoe’s bouncy sole unit all the way up to its mesh and neoprene upper. The shoe is based on Mizuno’s “sprint spike fitting theory”, according to the brand, as the strap tightens the fit in one action, and is further adjustable at the midfoot. Additional highlights include a tonal beige or triple black heel counter for added stability, as well as a hollow wave plate to complete the look.
For those looking to purchase, both the beige and triple back colorways of the Wave Prophecy Strap are available for $116 USD at Mizuno’s online store, along with select storefronts in Japan.
