February has been a busy month for Merrell, as an early look at its forthcoming SS24 1TRL collection hit the Internet last week and the brand recently dropped its new Moab Speed 2 GORE-TEX as well. The second model in the waterproof Moab Speed family, the Moab Speed 2 GORE-TEX retains the gorpy aesthetic and extreme functionality of its predecessor but pushes forward with an intricate new design and plenty of technical details to boot.

Available in a somewhat staggering run of 14 different colorways — the first seven pairs pictured in the gallery above are men’s styles, while the second set of seven are women’s makeups — the Moab Speed 2 GORE-TEX boasts a FloatPro midsole with 30% more foam than its predecessor plus a midfoot FlexPlate for extra support, a custom-built Vibram TC5+ outsole to ensure top-tier grip, and, of course, a full-length GORE-TEX cocoon just below its upper to keep the wearer’s feet dry, no matter how arduous their backcountry hike or urban commute may become. Thanks to the aforementioned melange of color schemes, there’s a pair to suit every taste, from wild oranges to earthy browns, greens and blues, and, of course, stark black, white and grey makeups.

If you want to cop a pair of the Moab Speed 2 GORE-TEX, you can do so on the Merrell webstore now. The MSRP for each pair is set at $170.
