After debuting on the Paris Fashion Week runway as part of TOMBOGO‘s Spring/Summer 2024 collection, the TOMBOGO x ESENES Worldwide Versadial Derby Shoe has stepped onto the footwear scene. The brainchild of two Bay Area friends – TOMBOGO’s Tommy Bogo & ESENES’ Justin Son – the formal yet technical offering melds elegance and performance, and marks the first collaboration between two designers.
“It felt so appropriate to tap Tommy for this project,” Son said in a statement.
The shoe – which retails for $230 USD – takes a wingtip silhouette, crafted fully from premium brushed leather and complete with soft leather lining and insoles. However, it’s the adjustable custom dial-tech lacing system that stands out most. Resting atop the tongue, the dial is stamped with TOMBOGO’s plus sign signage and tightens as it turns.
Lugged soles with stacked EVA offer optimal comfort while wearing and subtle co-branding rounds out the sleek design; TOMBOGO’s plus sign logo is also found perforated on the toe, with ESENES’ emblem etched on the heel and co-branded logos throughout the tongue and insoles.
