New Balance is expected to release the upcoming New Balance 2000 later this year. Inspired by the early 2000s running shoes, the updated model blends retro-futuristic stylings with the contemporary streetwear aesthetic.
The first look of the silhouette has been revealed on Instagram by Gustavo Soares, a Sao Paolo-based stylist. Shared for the first time, the shoe appears to showcase a no-sew streamlined upper silhouette that boasts a breathable mesh upper base paired with synthetic overlays for the sleek look. The shoe’s bold “N” branding is complemented by the wavy paneling and the 2000 appears to arrive in a soft baby blue hue featuring white accents throughout. The standout feature seems to the the full-length ABZORB cushioning system that is set up to resemble the Nike Shox technology. The chunky sole gives it the retro-futuristic look as it sees a five-pod feature that exposes the mid-foot plate.
